A different kind of sequence
Keep these points in mind. Four complete King-to-Ace runs clear the game. Moves build down in the same suit rather than allowing cross-suit destinations. Scorpion on dlwewin.com uses one 52-card deck with four suits. The tableau has seven columns.
Read the opening cards
A few details help explain this feature. The first three cards in each of the first four columns are face down. Each opening column contains seven cards for a total of 49 tableau cards. Three cards remain in the stock. All cards in the last three columns are face up.
Check rank and suit together
A King cannot land on another card because no higher rank exists. A seven of hearts cannot land on an eight of spades. A moved group's leading card must land on a card exactly one rank higher in the same suit. A seven of hearts can land on an exposed eight of hearts.
Move exposed groups
Here are the details for this mode. The selected cards do not need to descend in rank to travel together. The selected cards do not need to share a suit to travel together. Any face-up card can be selected together with every card beneath it. The leading selected card still has to meet the destination rule.
Only Kings fill empty space
Here are the details for this mode. Cards beneath a moved King do not need to be in sequence. An empty column accepts a King or a group led by a King. A group led by a lower rank cannot enter an empty column. An empty column is therefore less flexible than an empty column in ordinary Spider.
Uncover another choice
A few details help explain this feature. An exposed card can carry the cards beneath it when its own destination is legal. Removing all face-up cards above a hidden card turns that hidden card face up. Undo restores the earlier hidden-card arrangement when the move is reversed. The next hidden card is revealed automatically.
Use the stock once
Here are the details for this mode. Dealing places a face-up card on each of the first three columns. This Scorpion version permits its stock deal when columns are empty. There are no further stock cards after the three-card deal. The stock contains one final deal of three cards.
Collect ordered runs
A few details help explain this feature. All thirteen cards in a collected run must be face up. The game removes a qualifying run automatically from the bottom of a column. Moving an unordered group does not make that group a completed sequence. A completed run must descend from King to Ace in one suit.
Plan around blocked cards
Checking the whole moved group helps you anticipate what will become blocked. Replay and Undo let you explore another approach to the same layout. A move can carry unwanted cards along with a useful leading card. Hint lists legal choices without promising a winning continuation.
